Just some nice things from the Mom...with an extra photo as an added bonus

I've really been in a constant state of awe over Lowell for the past few months. When he really began to play "pretend" with such things as his kitchen, and one of his fave things is to pretend he's serving you a burger and fries through a little window (usually at a playground or some playhouse thing that has a little window with a shelf attached). And of course when he started pushing cars around and making car noises at the same time. We're doing a sticker chart for various good behaviours right now (this is new and experimental for us, and to be honest I think he could care less)...but this past week when he earned over the 10 sticker requisite for a "treat", his treat was the movie "Cars". I thought at first he didn't care much for it, but it quickly became apparent that his favorite character on the show is Mater. So, that's the background on this....my favorite sentence he has said (besides "Mommy, big hug!" or the "Mommy, Daddy, Big Hug" where he wraps his arms around both of us) was the other night when he gave Ian a cool die-cast fork lift and he grabbed an ancient, rusty-looking old truck of his dad's that has one rhinestone for a headlight and the other is missing and the paint is chipping off (yeah, lead alert here) and he said: "Daddy, you play forklift...I play Mater". And don't ask me why but it really made me happy.
AND, the highlight of this past weekend was meeting the Biscuit Brothers in person. They signed his guitar for him and told him he IS the other Brother. We got to watch them play and Lowell just smiled maniacally the whole time while strumming his guitar madly along with the music. It was a great day for Lowell, I dropped the ball and forgot my camera. I only felt bad when he kept telling me the Biscuit Brothers were coming over to our house, and when he asked if Dusty Biscuit could "pet" him to sleep at nap time.
So I have lots more of these photos to post, but not tonight....I hauled Lowell over to a field of flowers some weeks ago and he cooperated. Even Ian was cooperative!
