from the desk of boob, I mean, mom:

So more photos coming soon - promise!
(I don't brag a lot, it makes me feel uncomfortable, but since everyone else is doing it, I feel that I should too).
Lowell is doing great - they had picture day at his school yesterday and he was the only kid who really cooperated. We even had some other mom (not from his class) stop me on our way in this morning to let me know that he took some amazingly cute photos.
His vocabulary is off the charts these days. His teacher comments on it regularly and is really impressed. But its so odd, because some days he comes out with these words that I had no idea he knew, and he uses them in the correct context. Also, he can count now - actually count things, like objects, not just memorizing the words. Its crazy!
His current favorite things to do are: play drums, pretend to play trumpets and bassoons, build trumpets, bassoons and saxophones out of megablocks, water plants in our garden, swing on his tummy, play his guitar, sit in his beanbag chair (made by Granny) and watch Biscuit Brothers, climb, read books and guitar catalogues (like Musician's Friend, or Guitar Center), he's an amazing harmonica player (we have a band: Lowell and the straw hats), jump like a frog, paint and play-doh, help cook things (especially when it involves a wisk), look for bugs, and pretend to be a snake by scooting across the floor on his belly. There's so much I can't possibly squeeze it all into my measly brain, so I probably forgot somethings.
He loves his teacher and I think they're a great fit. She really understands him so his transition to daycare has been wonderful. Now he runs around the place like he owns it.
We had a great time with Granny and Papa Campbell. It was a fantastic visit and we're looking forward to Pops and Mimi's visit tomorrow. I've already been asked if we'll be going to Luby's. What kid doesn't love Luby's? I think Lowell should be their new spokesperson.
That's all I have for now - will post more soon.
