Here we are in Terlingua....

We all shared this one room shack. Three nights, five people. Despite sand storms and really freaky desert people, we all made it out alive...
I'd like to give you a little tour, and perhaps you, like my parents will better understand why not many people take walking toddlers to West Texas...everything has spines.










Let me show you this little succulent I just plucked from the ground...(luckily not prickley, or pwicky, as I say)









Now there's Papa loading stuff into the back of the vehicle. But over here, you have a virtual cornucopia of prickly things...









And this could be a fossil, or a rock, or some scary remnant of a mercury mine from nearby...











Here are some photos by Mom, just to give you a small sampling of the dangers that await you in West Texas. (Because we have some agave plants at home, I was very good and didn't have any run-ins with these prickly characters - click on it to get the full effect of that ocotillo plant on the left)
